While enjoying some Japanese table tennis videos YouTube Japan, I came across a great video of a man changing the table tennis rubbers on his racket. He’s obviously quite experienced at this and wastes no motion or time in getting it done. He starts out with the previous rubber already removed from the racket.
He applies the glue to the racket and spreads it around before moving on to the rubber. After spreading the glue onto the rubber as well he skillfully applies the rubber to the blade before smoothing it out with a roller. The drying time is cut, and in the next seem we see him smoothly rotating the racket with one hand while cutting the rubber with sharp scissors in the other hand. Next, he carries out the same process with the red rubber for the other side of his racket.
If you’ve never done this and are thinking of giving it a try, please take a look at this video before you do and hopefully it’ll help you get visualize the process better.
